New Tire Suggestion

My Ride: 2004 545i, Auto, Titanium Silver Metallic, Black Leather, Sport and Premium Packages, HUD
I knew it was coming... the rumble, the wear bars... I was going to need new tires soon.
Then, on my way to work today, the tires decided for themselves that today was the day they were to be replaced. I blew out the left rear tire. Interestingly, I heard it, but felt no change in the car's driving characteristics. I wasn't sure it was flat until the computer complained about it.
So, the question is - what tires do you recommend? I'm not interested in the OEM tires - too expensive and noisy.
RFT would be nice, but I'm on the fence with this one. I'd like the highest performance, quietest, longest-lasting, least expensive tires I can find.

My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
What size would that be?
Go for non-RF's what ever size.
Michelin PS2 and Bridgestone Potenzas are good choices.
If you drive a lot in the rain the Potenzas are betterand safer
but the PS2's last longer.

Rear Size 275/35R18
It rains about 5x a year here in Arizona, so I'm not terribly concerned about rain performance.
I like the PS2, but wow are they pricey!

I ended up getting Michelin Pilot SP2s. The car is SO much quieter now, to the point where I can hear things I've never heard. 4th gear has a rumble I never noticed before. Interesting.

I just replace my DunFlops last week, they too had run through the wear bars and in fact through the belts, they were about to pop as well. After about 2 months of researching, I decided to go with an all season tire, both TireRack and Discount Tire had the Bridgestone Pole Positions as their top rated tire for the "ultra high performance all season." It is amazing how much of a difference these all seasons are to the runflats. I know that the ps2 are going to be even better if you want a summer tire.
I also used this excuse to put on the 166s from Garry of Newport. I can't stop looking at those wheels!!

My Ride: 2005 530i sport, premium package, 10 speaker. Roof spoiler and trunk spoiler. Custom painted TSW Indy 500 rims.
Also look at yokohamas. I heard they are a lot quieter. Check out Discount Tire and read the reviews.

Go for PS2's and absolutely non-RF's.
They are the best tires on dry roads.
Save the money back in the long run!
