Don't forget, there are headers on that vehicle, which very noticably increase the sound levels, especially from the outside of the cabin.

Sounds very similar to the custom quads on my 530i, if you plan to remove the center resonator and don't want to hear droning, put dynamat under your car around the exhaust, it will lessen the noise coming to your cabin but your car will still be louder outside.
