I'm very satisfied with the outcome.

I'm not disappointed that I stuck with the 18" rim and though I've only driven a few miles from my independent BMW mechanic's shop to my home the ride is noticeably different (General Exclaim UHP) from the Bridgestone RFT's.

The first is a close up with the caliper painted black. That is hard to see but so much better than seeing the rusty caliper parts and I'm very happy I took the extra step to clean them up and spray with hi temp flat black paint.

I completely understand why many forum posters lower their cars. The gap between wheel and tire is large but thankfully black tires against a dark car minimize the visual. If my car was light colored or white I'd definitely make that the next mod.

So, here are a couple of pics ... BE GENTLE with the feedback cuz I'm a real sensitive guy

I'm sure the 4x4 action is good for the winter snow but come spring i expect a full drop. Perhaps coilovers so so can raise it and lower it with the seasons.

Hey Luigi, one step at a time, maybe you'll lower later. Looks good. You mean the ride is better right???

It's difficult to discern on a 5 mile ride home if the ride is "better". I won't push cornering limits until I've put a few miles on the tires. It is quieter and sharp road irregularities seem less noticeable. But I've not really had time to hit the roads yet. The Exclaims do not seem as "crisp" on turns - the few that I've taken in the short jaunt. No doubt the stiffer sidewalls of the Bridgestone RA50 RFT's vs a conventional UHP tire will make for different handling ... I've just not had the oppt'y to run 'em out yet.

That said, I'll take lowering under consideration but for this moment I'm set for this month. It'll probably stop me from test driving new BMWs at my dealer too! Then again .. .. NOT!!

OH ... almost forgot ... still have to plug in the SB I got a couple of weeks ago. Probably should have done that while I was in a nice warm shop getting the rims/tires done ! Oh well, maybe next week.

They look great Lou! Congratulations. I love the VMR's and haven't regretted the purchase once.

Thanks ... BTW, there will be a major performance event coming up in April ... not at the EGG but in Ocean City. Watch for the news. It'll be on our website, Facebook, Cygnus, and [if I can get the attention of the networks] elsewhere.

You won't want to miss it!

Looks good Hard to tell from the pic but did you paint the hub also? Planning on painting my calipers tomorrow and have been debating amongst myself whether to paint the hub also. I am planning on painting BLACK by the way.
