Have to agree with Chris, Peter, etc. Just because something "works" doesn't mean it "fits". Really, really high, and front wheel spacing is way out of whack. No, coilovers won't work on one end. You'll need the kit, or at least a spring set, to get it headed in the right direction. You can get there.

Seriously now, do smth about it!!! It's just plain stupid to see such beautiful rims on such a beautiful Mpacked car that won't kiss each other. It's like an M5 replica made for Paris-Dakar
Please do smth...it would kill the whole image of the car. It looks better with the fabric M kit (135).
The exhaust looks good thogh, i hope it sounds like the way it looks!
Cheers and good luck!
In person, when you look at it the wheels they don't stick out too much. I don't have any spacers on the wheels. Guess it's the angles of the pictures. I think it looks fine the way it is set up right now, but I guess it's personal preference. What can be done in regards to offset to make the wheels not stick out as much? Might do something down the road with the H&R's in regards to height.

I love these rims Sophisticated yet agreessive. A classic oximoron in the finest sense.
Now, I do think the wheels are too far out. I don't know if the wheels you have are replicas that have wrong offset, or OEM's. You should be carefull not to run into a bump or dip while cornering, but then again, you may of checked this before you bought your rims.
Bigger rims will always make your car look higher. It's an optical phenomenon because your eyes always sees the bottom of the wheel and reference it with the bottome of the side skirt. This visual distance will increase with the wheel size. If you put a 17" rim, you'll see that your car has magically been lowered (visually).
I'll take the rims from you if you decide to sell them

The wheels I have are OEM's. So everybody who puts these wheels on their car should also be experiencing the same issue. Who else out there has put these rims on their car?

Norham,
how's the quality of the replica wheels ?
Balance, paint etc.
I've been thinking about buying a set of for winter use, since i really dont care for the the only 17" option BMW Sweden offers.
Nice setup, I have the same problem with 18" wheels on the rear, the space left makes them look small from certain angles, I have 275/35 tyres on the rear i think I should have used 275/40's which sit a bit taller, I am wondering if you could use the coil overs on the rear only as the front is low enough
see the pic's below of the car with M tech wheels with 275/35 and my old 123 alloys with with 245/40

The wheels look good, but lowering is a must with that setup. They are not sticking out, but because you have the gap above the wheel they look like they are sticking out.
One thing I don't like is "Wheel Well", that is why I changed my wheels to 19's so they would fit the space more tightly. Once you lower your car a little, it should look way better.
Good luck and post some updated pics if you get Lowering Springs.
