I am about to buy a genuine 2007 - 2 navigation dvd second hand.

Are there any specific questions I should ask??
Should there be a key code??
Will it matter if it is second hand??

I guess it has to install, is it possible to go back to my 2006 - 1 if I was to change the car??

Assuming that it's the proper disc (one designed for the E60 and not some other BMW model) then you should be fine just popping the disc into the slot. As far as I know, there is nothing upgraded on the car so you can easily revert back to the old disc just by popping it in. (Older BMW nav cars -- not the E60 -- used discs to update the system.)

The only other issue I can think of right now is to make sure you get an original and not a copy. Although I've seen copies work, sometimes there are disc errors depending on the quality of the media and the burn process..

I will NOT get a copy I am only interested in the genuine article. The one my friend is selling has come from a written off 2007 E60!

I was aware on the older systems that the software was updated from the disc, but was unsure about the newer ones.
