ahh come on a little touch up paint and a good wax should clean that right up

Good to know that your wife is OK. You are not willing spend money the good alternative would be to do some paint less repair first (They just pull the dent out using vacuum or clue pulleys) , then you can do a paint job either using touch up paint or the whole area. Of course your windows should be OK to start with.
