New Idrive controller upgrade
So what I'm trying to achieve is going from old boring idrive knob to new cooler looking controller with amber illumination!
2007 pre lci 530 with M-ask (no CCC or CIC)
I already know not all buttons will function so its only for the BLING effect.

I know I'll have to rearrange the pin connector clips from old knob to the new, so luckily i found this picture post.....

So... What I need to know is if this controller upgrade will work withouth doing a CCC Or CIC upgrade?

Idrive controller
OK, so I had time this weekend to remove the center console and connect the new controller.
Surprisingly it lights up but only some short cut keys worked.... Which is fine since all I really need is the menu button. What didn't work is the knob.....doesn't scroll spin or direction up down left or right.
The guy I brought it from says to have the M-ASK updated and it will work. Anyone know how true this is?
