the only thing that would void the warranty would be the tune.... that is if the dealership detected.
the supercharger or turbo would definitely void warranty.. but everything RPI makes is perfectly fine.
i have taken both my vehicles with full rpi gt exhausts and have received nothing but compliments.
Thanks.

How much HP would RPI scoop and filter add without changing the exhaust?

dyno with the scoop alone gave about 5-7 increase

Nice! Congrats! did you get to dyno your vehicle with the magnaflow? usually mangaflows have been know to loose HP.

you have to have more than 5 posts to send PMs

Thanks amigos.

No, I did not do any before or after dynos. I have access to a dyno but didn't even bother; I am more of track guy. However, I would dyno if and when I can find a tuner for this application. All I want is a little more juice from my daily driver.

Once we removed the stock mufflers, we noticed that it was a little peppier in the lower R's. My butt dyno tells me that the car seems to accelerate much smoother and with a little more giddy up. If nothing else, the stock muffler configuration was heavy as crap, it weights like 52lbs or so while the Magnaflow was only 22.4lbs so this helps.

I would love to get some sort of tuning done to this car. I am aware that many past and present BMW owners are claiming that BMW N/A applications are pretty much tuned to the max from factory, but I'll bet there is room for more in there.
I played with all types of different applications in the past and always found additional ponies and ended up with slightly improved mpg ratios and better drivability. Powerwise, typically I find at least 12rwhp accross the curve; that is huge.

I wish there was a tuning software out there for the 545i bimmer like what HP tuners offers for applications such as the new Z06. Those cars usually have between 20 and 30 rwhp angry ponies just waiting to come out. Those cars become a bigger beast once you complete a simple tune and add a cai kit. I am aware that the 545i and the new Z06 are two different animals, but you guys my point...right? Back in 2006, my '06 Z06 showed an imrovement of 28rwhp and 22rwtq after I tweaked the fuel, timing and torque mgmt tables. Later it made 522rwhp/490rwtq with only headers, tune, cai kit and a 160 stat! Bone stock it dyno 460hp/432tq!

Thanks,
Hard45

Welcome!
I see you tune cars. Maybe consider this thread: https://5series.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=81418 for making a homemade DINAN Intake. Few members have it done. Great results.

About Force Induction: http://www.ststurbo.com/ (universal kit) if you car does not have or expired CPO.

Welcome

I think there are a few companies that offer ECU remaps that give about 19-20 hp increase check out my sig for the one that did mine. I think our problem is that there is not as much demand for tuning for our cars compared to your Z06 as you know that also explains why the cost of some of these remaps is high. You might find it better to get a 535 and tune that!

Nah dude, the Magnaflow muffler is here to stay. It sounds good and for some reason, it seemed to have helped my car.

Friday night the misses and I were heading home in a hwy in Mexico and then out of nowhere, this vato in a E39 M5 pulled next to us and asked for a dance. We were neck to neck for a good two miles or so. We then slowed and started again but this time I was behind him in the same lane, seconds into the second dance, I noticed that I was really close to his rear bumper and decided to back off...perhaps it was draft and not because maybe I was faster...he continued on.

We later pulled up to a cantina and he asked me what was done to my car, I said: Muffler, RPI scoop and K&N filter with the charcoal filter removed. He said that I was the first non M5 E60 Series car to run with him like that. FYI, he was the only passenger in his ride while I was hauling the wife and I. She is only about 140lbs but it was extra weight nonetheless. I think I would have beaten him by half a car or a car if I was solo...maybe. I think I will be removing all the spare tire crap just in case I end up in Mexico again.

Thanks,
Hard45
