Hello guys,
Here is a quick run down about me. I'm what you would call a 1/4 mile racer. I owned GN's, Supras, 5.0's, BMW's, Mitsus and Vettes.
My most recent toys: a 11sec GN (may sell soon to potential buyer on the fence), a 9sec 2006 Z06, a 2002 530 stock and a 2005 545 lightly modded (K&N, charcoal filter removed and Magnaflow 14862 muffler)...Rpi scoop on the way
My friends with modded Mercs, Porsches, M5's and M3's have no problems getting go fast parts and/or ECU tuning for their rides. What's up with the BMW N/A applications such as the 545i?
Is there anything I can do to my 545 as far as tuning?
It seems to me that you can't find too many "go fast" parts for the 545i...is this correct?
Who is has the best ROI as far as tuning for the 545i? Or better yet, is the 545i even worth tuning?
My 545i is an automatic with sports package, bone stock it ran a best of 13.66 at Ennis here in Dallas Tx which was not bad for heavy car in the Texas heat
I tune my own modded 9sec Z06 with great results. The Dinan option has been tossed around but kept hearing that cost vs. the performance gains is simply not there. As previously stated, I own a C6 Z06 and owned other bimmers in the past so I understand the cost of modding these cars, but paying $700 to $700 plus for minimal returns is not my cup of tea I?m not interested in cosmetics, brakes, suspension and so on, I just want to add a little more spice into my daily driver.
Please let me hear your inputs and thank you in advance for all your help.
Thanks,
Hard45

Unfortunately, you have identified the weakness of the 8 cylinder e60. Maybe this should be seen as an opportunity for entrepeneurs. Look at the excitement the RPI exhaust generated. I'm willing to collaborate

congrats and
to your new home. you're first few steps would be RPI scoops, filter and exhaust. the next step would be water/meth.... then perhaps a tune w/singh motorsports via EuroRev or Powerchip/RPi. The last stage would be a turbo motor or super charger via alpina, VF, AA, G Power, etc.
if you want to make your bmw v8 go fast please let me know through PM. Race Precision Inc. can definitely help you obtain the most amount of HP to the wheels. Happy motoring!![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)

Alpina makes a nice supercharger. Produces gobs of torque.
I'm trying to send you a PM but keep getting an error.
Can you please try to PM me with the tuning information; let's see if this works for you.
Thanks,
Hard45
