So I got really annoyed that one of my AE's wasn't working and finally just met up with John (brabusw209amg) and he threw in a pair of his 5W LED AE bulbs into my headlights. Here are a couple of pics, but before I get to that, I wanna publicly THANK JOHN FOR BEING AN AWESOME FRIGGIN DUDE
Go You! And we're gonna have to meet up one of these days to try that headlight polishing kit
anyway, the pics:
The bulb itself is really bright:

like, blinding, if you look at it head-on:

Here you can see the new bulb (your right) and the old one (your left)
They look almost the same on this pic, but IRL you could tell the difference. And even here, if you look hard enough, you'll see that the pass side is just a little dimmer. Mind you, my old bulbs weren't BS either - I don't remember if they were R-Dash or Mtec v2, but they were good stuff too

It doesn't look white on pics, but the actual color is pure white:

Looks so much better in person...

Finished (pics still crappy
):

These 5W angel eyes are priced at $100 shipped. VERY comparable to the MTEC V2.1 but of course hte MTEC V2.1 has a better heat sink and uses the expensive CREE LEDs. What Vlad had before was RDash led angel eyes. Those are not as of better quality. For $35 less than the MTEC V2.1 with approximately the same brightness, it's really great! Of course if you want the best of the best, MTEC V2.1 is the way to go. But by all means, they are both excellent products!!!

I can only compare these to Predator ICE v3's, as I'm not even sure that I've seen the Mtec 2.1's in person. But compared to the ICE 3's, these are pretty much the same - just as white and about as bright. I'll, of course, be checking them out in the daylight tomorrow.
John, thanks again for coming through, helping out with the Benz and giving me a SICK-SICK-SICK INSANE deal on these! The only two things that are wrong with you is that you aren't a hot chick and there's only one of you for all of "us"

Looks great in the garage!
(I really like that Alpina front and black grill BTW
)
Can you take some pictures of the AEs in day light?
I have the RDash, from John of course
, but you can hardly see them in day light. It would nice to have something as bright as the OEM LCI DRLs. Are these 5W lights comparible to the LCI DRLs?

Are these 5W lights comparible to the LCI DRLs?From my experience, nothing compares to Orions (or HID AE's for LCI cars). I've yet to see any other setup work well in daylight. I will take some pics in daylight when I can, and will definitely post them.
My dilemma was whether to get Orions or not - and I'm still thinking about it - but all the opening of the headlight and re-sealing it is just scary to me. I don't wanna waste my headlights or waste a set of Orions. Looks alone, Orions are still my favorites though.
