I bought a 2004 530i last november, I basically bought the car without doing much research or looking into the options. At the time the only option I was concerned with was navigation, and 2 days after I bought it I realized it didnt have xenon headlights, I was so pissed, even though it was due to my impatience and compulsive behaviour when buying the car. I went back to the dealer and they told me it would cost $3800 to have it installed, even though its a $800 factory option. Does anybody have any alternatives? I noticed someone posted clear xenon headlights on ebay for $1500 could I use that on my car or would I need to get any additional parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could by this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=36476

This is the complete OEM Xenon headlight.

Other option is to get an upgrade XENON kit for your headlights. This will be cost over US$ 290.00. See it at plasmagarage.com

If you don't mind the Projector, just go ahead and get a HID kit for it. It's much cheaper and the light look better than the stock Xenon system. The Stock HID that came with the car is not as bright as was on the previous BMW car probably because of the law.

Welcome Debonair! It would be extremely expensive to add the factory xenon system. You might want to try xenondepot.com. I bought a true xenon system for my motorcycle from them.

I purchased the bi-xenon retrofit kit, i'm just waiting for it to arrive. I believe it was on backorder and the person i bought the kit from stated that it would arrive in late april. My dealer did tell me it was $1750.00 with installation. That was on the phone, I didnt go there in person to speak with anyone.

Thanks, do you know how much it would cost to get those clear headlights installed if I were to buy them from rover active on ebay?

It shouldn't cost too much to install the clear headlight. Probably about 1-2 hrs labour..

Search on ebay for "hid h7 xenon" easily fitted and do the same job but do get a relay as the h/light bulb warning light will come on due to the low voltage used.
