If the roads are really going to be rough. I've been to HK quite a few times and I think I know what you mean, I'd avoid anything more than 18 inchers. Not only might your ride quality suffer but so would your rims. That is unless you drive really slowly so that you can see every bastard pothole that comes around the corner.

My Ride: MY05 545i Jet Black with Auburn interior. SMG, Logic7, Sport Package, Comfort Seats, Navigation.
In my opinion, 19" would look the best for E60. Just look at M5 and it's got 19"s.
However, you're in Hong Kong so I would worry about curb rash. Plus you may want to drive inland to China sometimes, so the road are not as perfect. I would stay with 18"

I like how the 20's look on my car
It's a little noisier but its cuz of the bigger tires
The ride is not stock any more it is because I also lowered it
But my opinion if its for looks go with 20's
performance go with 19's
IMO-18's just look too small on such a big car

If you're gonna spend that much money on new wheels - GET THE 19's. You can get much better tires than the runflats and your ride, handling and noise will improve significantly - mine has. If you don't get the 19's you will regret it everytime you see one with the larger wheels. Go for it.

My 18" with Bridgestone Run Flats are barely tolerable on bumpy roads. If you hit a pot hole, you will feel it and possibly bend/dent your rim.

19" rims with Goodyear F1's ride beautifully on terrible roads - far better than the runflats on 18's. I've gone over, potholes, even slammed into a curb head-on with these wheels/tires and no damage whatsoever. These are forged wheels though - are the OZ's forged or cast?

So jimbo,
You think a 17x8 will be okay on bumps? I know my 16 x 7.5 are great on bumps.
