So I just got my 05 545i about 4 months ago and have been starting to get the nerve up to start modding. I'm a long time subaru guy, my previous ride was a full stage 2, 350 hp, Sti.

So far with the 545i I've added some tint, changed the idrive knob and am getting the ipod kit installed tomorrow.

But I need wheels!!

I'm lovin the 172 and 166, aren't we all.

Are these too good to be true?

Here

Thanks

At that price, I'd say your assessment of "Too good to be true", would be accurate!

+1. The only reps members seem to agree with are Miro Time Attack (167 reps).

IMO, spend a little more coin on good wheels. You are paying for quality (of the wheel and the ride) as well as peace of mind. You could also post a WTB thread in the classified section. 172's and 166's pop-up periodically.......

Also, try contacting Gary at newport BMW, 25% off to e60.net members...I believe the price for 166's are $1495 +shipping.

tirerack.com for some tires...

Try to find out the manufacturer to see if they are JWL and VIA certified. There are a lot of Taiwanese wheel manufacturers out there that all carry the same thing but of vastly different qualities in terms of construction and paint finish. For this reason, we stick to proven replica brands like Velocity Motoring who's wheels all pass the same JWL and VIA certifications and are produced in ISO9006-2001 certified facilities.

Stick with the OEM wheels, i had replica wheels on my last E60 and the Clear Coat flaked on them.

I'm very happy with my Miro reps! ..but if my car wasn't awd I'd probably pay the extra $$$ and go with OEM.
