I just noticed I have 2 mufflers side by side and the Magnaflow 14862 I just bought is only one muffler...Does this mean that I cant do this installation?? I have an appointment at 2pm today (3 hrs to go) and want to make sure I dont screw-up my car... HELP PLEASE!?!?!?!

Many thanks!

Usually, I'd tell you to "Search" the forum ... since it's Friday I'll give ya a break

There are at least 3 of us that have this mod on a 545i (we have 2 mufflers too):This is a nice interim step before going quads . Take some pics and sound clips/video

Yes you can, I'm sure this will help and I don't even have a magnaflow:

This is what I plan on doing with my 545i in the near future. So in your case instead having the muffler in the middle of the car, two pipes will run from the factory resonator to the rear and enter the exhaust. Does this help any?

It must be friday because he showed you proof that it can be done. They just need to Y your two pipes into one if you delete your box resonator or just a straight install if not. Very easy to do, they should have no problem installing.

Greg, the 545i has dual-mufflers too on the driver-side. As far as I know, the set-ups listed above simply replaced both OEM mufflers with the Magnaflow one, be it 14862, 14816 or 14815. The difference among these models is simply the tip (chrome outlet) style and size. Some may have removed their resonator(s) but that's for you to decide.

Now thats what I'm talkin about...gracias! Appreciate the quick response. I have totally sweaty hands over this as I am concerned taht my new sound will be too loud for everyday, but maybe not... YIKES!!!

Also, am concerned that this may screw with my BMW warranty up to 100k...thoughts?
