Thanks for the boost of confidence I'll probably go that route, too bad theres no 3.91 or 4.10's for cheap lol
It makes a loud clunking/whining noise, I still have it on the car though till I get a new rear diff, its been less loud lately though

Have you tried replacing the oil yet? My X3 was acting up, dealer said i needed a new transfer case, replaced the oil instead and everything has been fine for almost 6 months now.

now that you mention it, my drive line is becoming more and more clunky, ore than the usual. i just broke 100k miles
and ever since then i have noticed that when it put it to the floor my tranny instead of goin 6-3 it goes 6-5-4-3 then gets up and goes also its feeling a bit more like it doesnt want to jump into gear under normal driving. maye time to put the old mare out to pasture? also why not try and put a dif from an m5 or even a 550i on your car, if your worried about acceleration, theyre all fast my friend.
