i have my rpi exhaust on my 04 530i, i love the exhaust, but i was wondering if i take the resonator out in the middle of the car and make it straight pipe all the way to the rpi exhaust with it be louder? if so how much more louder?, does any know of any one who has done this?
also do you guys think i should do it or just leave it alone?

There hasn't been a 530 with a RPI exhaust that's done it. RPI makes several full gt exhausts that sound much louder than the axle back. If you were to cut out the resonators it will increase the sound considerably but may result it a loss of power. If you must do it, I suggest doing a pre and post dyno. Be sure to stick with the same diameter piping as the surrounding pipes.

I would still advise you not to mess with the original design.

I have never seen a resonator delete that made power and always have seen them lose power, aside from RPI's systems that specifically design a replacement RPI exhaust/piece to replace the resonator. I have never seen straight pipes do anything but make a loud sound with a loss of power. That is just my personal opinion from random reading on the net I have come across. I would work with RPI.

Instead of deleting resonator, try replacing with aftermarket resonator such as Magnaflow.
