Default need help on picking a transmission for 04 530i AT, what others fit?

I have done builds on cars many times where i changed the transmission and it came from another car say a 350z trans to a toyota motor by a kit and swaping the bell housing. What all year make and models will mate up to my M54 thats not a 6hp19, or can an 08 or 2010 n54 6hp19 bolt up fine? Does anyone have any others that will fit. Because looking for 04-05 6hp19 they all have high milage and my car only has 100, 041 miles on it. Need help from the BMW gurus that are on here with real knowledge...

Please help the car is at a shop and they want to put one in with 175k on it. Hell no.. i know i would have to do some coding because the electronic gear shifter vs analog one thats in it. I found an 08 with 80k on it. Wouldnt mind having a better transmission in it.

Ty for ur help

6hp19 is 6hp19 bro. its gonna be the same shit. performance wise.

also it can be done switching from pre lci to lci transmission but its not worth the headache. for the amount of money you would spend, you might as well rebuild the high mileage one and know everything is new because you are gonna need so much stuff and some extensive coding to get it going (egs, wiring harnesses etc amongst other small things), and from the sound of things that isnt in your mechanics scope since youre on the forums asking for help lol.

true i would probably have to do it on jack stands. Found a 65k miles 06 that fits.. 6 month warranty.

I just need the lift i can replace my own engines and transmissions, been doing it since my 94 DSM got my license end of 93 so that was my first car.

idunno bout in palm harbor, but here in soflo they have a place called "garage yourself" where you can bascially rent a lift by the hour with all the tools to do stuff yourself.

also good to have friends with their own little shops thatll let you use the shop. since I moved from a house to a condo ive had to find ways to work on her myself.

but yea the pre lci sounds like a much better options simply because bmw doesnt make stuff like that easy and you dont wanna end up worse than you already are.

I bought a 60k miles from an 06 530i, now im told it doesnt fit. Its alteady shipped, will it fit my 04? Or do i needvto buy a new prop shaft to mate to my m54? Comes with warranty as well.. i love my 04 more than my 2010 535i. Which im building the n54 in it.

The only other auto that would work, that you can buy a conversion kit for would be the 8 speed zf 8hp. But you need a standalone transmission controller, which they do make for this application.
