Hey guys.... i recently posted a WTB cuz i need a rear 124 wheel in chrome. Well, my body shop guy found one from a junk yard and he's telling me that it wasn't the same size!! He says my rear wheels are 9.5" wide and that the one he got was much smaller (by about half an inch). I'm trying to convince him that the wheels don't come in different sizes for rwd bimmers and that all of the ones i've found online are 18x9 rear and 18x8 front. He sent it back to the junk yard cuz he said it was wrong...

Is he wrong or do I have my facts all messed up?
Do the 124's come in a different size for the rear??

Please, some1 shed some light on this dilemma...

Thanks for any

Set of 124s usually comes staggered. Maybe your guy got hold of the front wheel.

no he says that the difference was less than half an inch... I'm pretty sure it was the right wheel cuz i've searched like 100 different sites and the ones that gave the part number all had identical numbers... but he measured it himself and said the sizes didn't match so I'm second-guessing myself now

thanks for the reply guys

turns out he was right about the size... I went down to the shop today and measured it myself... my rear wheels are exactly 10" wide
we called bmw dealers and they said that it is a special order wheel so im out $510 (which includes a 25% discount from bmw)!!!

anyways... the rim we had from the junk yard was a standard... he offered me style 32s (20") for 800 with tires but i just don't like em all that much... mostly cuz its not a staggered set and the rear wheels are too thin for my taste...

Perhaps a perfect opportunity for a "new wheel mod"

lol, all in due time first i want to have a complete set of my "special" 124s so I can later sell/trade em for the rims i want... which are too expensive for my budget ATM - like 4k without tires

$510 for one rim. That's crazy. I would just pay a few hundreds more for a set of VMRs.
