Need basic info on rims and lowering

New to the forums, so hello all....
I just bought an 05 545 and couldn't be happier. Absoutley love the car. I want to put some kind of 20" rim (have been considering MHT Vendetta's or 166's (opinions are appreciated)) Had a question about lowering springs. Car is equiped with sport package so is there any benefit to replacing springs? I dont want to slam the car but do want it to look right with 20's. Also concerned with rubbing issues. I like the height that the H&R sport springs give but it doesn't seem much lower than it sits right now, is it? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

welcome. 166s are beautiful wheels but they dont come in 20", unless replica. as for lowering the car, yes it is a more aggressive feel when driving. with oem sport springs, the car is .7" lower than standard. from a standard 545, the H&R sport will lower it 1.3" front and 1.2" rear. with the sport package, it's just the difference if you choose to lower it with H&R sports, so it would lower .6" front and .5" rear. hope this helps. enjoy the forums.

So are you saying that if you have the sport springs that come with the sport pack you get basically the same drop as with the H&R sport springs thus not need to lower on 20"s

The ride is better in all instances, the fact that you have 166's it will be close too factory smooth until you take a corner
On the gap the rear should close to 2 fingers all around. But dont the 545,550 have rear leveling suspension? that might have a effect
