It may have military specs but it will not come with the codes that link you to the portion of the sat. Those codes change often any way. I used to work with that system a while back.

Don't know about military specs, but I use the Navman iCN-510 and it is very good. Nice big screen, choice of maps including 3D and clear voice commands.
It's now less than $400 on the internet.

I kind of want a high tech portable Navi to carry around to supplement my car's navi.
It's like, why have a car phone (unless it is standard) when i can have a cell phone in my pocket.
