Has anyone here installed NAV in their e60 after purchasing/leasing their car without it? I regrettably did not order NAV on my car and am now reconsidering it. Has anyone had this done? and was it costly?

It would cost you way to much to do an original BMW NAV now. Go with the kenwod touch screeen system. It works great. I had itinstalled in a previous BMW. E39 They tell me it can be done with E60 too. Make sure the installer has a lot of experiance with BMW or they will kill tyour car. But all this will void the warranty anyway so you may be out of luck.

Actually, according to BMW service bulletin 84 10 04 dated June 2004, Nav can be retrofitted in your E-60 if it was pre-wired with option 6UA. Give the parts guy at your BMW service center your VIN and he can check to see if your car has the option. Until May 31, 2005, they cannot charge you more than $1800 parts and labor. That is the price of Nav if ordered as an option.

There was a post a few days ago that said it was possible even without the Prep. I downloaded the PDF file that was attached as I am also interested in this and don't think I have 6UA.

Remember, Mr. Search is your friend. I found this by searching for NAV PDF.

Try a search or two before you post.

Does anyone know if there are any conflicts with the CPT9000 and NAV? I am scheduled to have a NAV retrofit Monday.

When you did the retrofit, did they change your screen to a larger one or leave the original smaller screen in? also im assuming that they removed the cd player and put in a dvd player correct? or did they just add an additional player?

I am thinking about doing it if they change the screen out to the larger one. Also does anyone have a part number for the kit?

thanks as always.

I am having it done tomorrow and yes, a new larger screen and they add a DVD slot so you will have two slots on your dash, one CD and one DVD. A new trim piece needs to be ordered to replace the one already on the dash.
