Hi all,
I am trying to dial in my wheels and suspension setup, and I need advice from everyone.
The car is rolling on 20x9/10.5 et22 Morr VS8.2 wheels now fitted with 245/30 and 295/25 Michellins. They are paired with KW V3. I like the handling and stance for daily drive. And these wheels are very light!
I am happy with the rear setup. My problem is with the front setup. I had to use 5mm spacers because the KWs are hitting the inner side of the tires/wheels. If you look at the pics below, that's the lowest I can go and I only had 2mm clearance on the inner side.
The front tires are stretched now and I prefer 255/30, plus I still want to be able to lower it some more...so I would need 12mm spacers to make this happen.
But I'm concerned that using 12mm spacers will cause massive rubbing to the fenders.
Can I ask whether any of you tried using 20x9 et22 up front with 255/30 tires and 12mm spacers, please share your experience? Or any other thoughts for my setup?

Just to summarize for myself, you're using 5mm in the front and you want to run 12mm so you need another 7mm of clearance?
My best advice is to measure yourself to know for sure if you'll have any issues.

My Ride: 2008 bmw 535i black sapphire metallic w/ tan interior , sports package , premium package , parking sensor, shades,usb , HRE 20's, CKS C1's coilovers, rpi scoop, OEM M5 side mirrors,OEM Gloss black kidney grills, ACS roof spoiler, ACS Trunk spoiler, 15% madico tint all around..

Im currently running HRE 20x9 front et12 (255/35/20)and 20x10.5 rear et16 (285/30/20).. and I had to roll front and back and im on stock sport suspension...I still rub on dips on the front, but its the plastic liner inside not the fender... I would say 10mm front spacer would be perfect for you since your running 245/30/20 and roll the fender just to be safe..12mm spacer might be pushing it and youll end up like me.. keep us posted and Goodluck!

If I'm not mistaken, I have to run a hubcentric spacer to go beyond 5mm. And the minimum hubcentric spacer I can use is 12mm according to my shop.
Anyone know if it's trus? Can I instead use 8mm or 10mm spacers for my car?

that's 100% correct. You could always switch to a lug centric system then you could run 7,8,10 spacers. It would require you to convert to a stud and nut combo. I am telling ya man coilovers are the devil!
As far as your situation the only feasible thing you can do is go to the M5 fender bumper conversion. The flared fender will give you the space you need and the room to lower the car more. I ran into the exact same buzzsaw your in be it they are 19's but a 9 inch rim is a 9 inch rim.

I've been thinking of getting M5 fenders, but that'll be last option cause it's very expensive.
Thanks for the lug centric idea though, but I don't quite get how it's done. Care to elaborate more?

Yea pretty much. I think its most not all coilovers. I have the V2 up but I also might sell the wheels so. Check the link for stud conversion. Turner has good info on this stuff

After all the reasearch I have done with stud conversion and hub extenders when I measured again and again I only had 3mm of space between the rim and the coil after the 12mm spacer was on, and I needed 4mm to get the rim tucked in a little more to lower the car more DOH!!!. And yes M5 setup would be right around 2300 if I installed myself thats painted too fyi
