Well, I finally sorted out my winter wheel situation after I realized that the winter wheels I had on my Infiniti M45 had a different bolt pattern than the E60 and would not safely fit my ride.

After seeking guidance from the terrific members on this board, I decided to go with OEM wheels. I did get an excellent price from Michael at Acute Performance for VMR V710s and PM'd with member NeRwEEy about supplying me with winter wheels but the cautious person in me went with OEM wheels for my winter set.

I picked up used Style 123 wheels from member Stylezzza for $300. Thanks to member brabusw209amg for transferring the wheels between Stylezza and me. One wheel had a minor bend and all had some curb rash. Here are some pics of the wheels pre-refurbishment.

I then took the wheels to Wheel Fix It http://www.nyrimfix.com/ in Freeport, Long Island to get them refurbished and brought back to virtually new condition. Thanks to member C's Bimmer for the reference. Note that George Senior, who used to own the business, was recently bought out and is no longer with the business. For $110 per wheel (the price for a wheel with no tires), they did my wheels in less than 24 hours. I picked them up less then a day after I dropped them off. They looked fantastic -- basically like new. Here are the pics post refurbishment:

So for $740, I now have OEM 123 wheels that look brand new for my winter set. I'll wrap them in the Dunlop WinterSport M3s that I ran on my Infiniti M45. BMW recommends series 40 tires while mine are series 45 (the recommended width is the same). Hopefully, I won't have any rubbing as the height difference in the sidewall is very small. If I do experience rubbing, I'll get new tires. But if I can get away with 45s instead of 40s in the winter, I'd prefer that due to the slightly higher sidewall.

This is a long way of me saying how great this board and its members are. So many members were helpful to me here and I appreciate it.

Love those wheels for winter. I really wish I could find a good deal for those that cheap I'd scoop them asap. I have 124's and 17's for Winter but they are 225/50/17's all around and they just DON'T LOOK RIGHT..... So tiny and gay with no offset.

Yes I wanted 18s (my summer rims are the 19 inch Style 172s). Tire size is 245/45/18.

Yes I was blown away -- especially given the $440 price for all 4 and the less than 24 hour turnaround.

Yup. I am grateful to Calton for the referral. I scratched up one of my beloved 172s on a curb while parking and as soon as my winter wheels are on, my damaged 172 will be going to Wheel Fix It for TLC. They charge $125 to refurbish a rim with a tire and they mount and re-balance the tire.

Yes I am still pinching myself over the $740 price for the whole job.
