My new side skirts
Hey guys, I recently installed some new (to me) side skirts on my 545. Let me know what you guys think!
I painted them on my own using aerosol cans (i didn't think it would turn out so good with spray cans) and fitted them myself. Not a bad project, very time consuming though.

What do you mean by that? Is it bad that he isn't following the norm?
I believe these are Hamann side skirts. Too bad they cost as much as a complete MTech kit. This is only the third type of side skirt I've seen for our car, the other being ACS. The ACS isn't, IMO, different enough to justify it price. These, on the other hand, actually stand out from the other two and give the car a unique look. I do think they look better on a darker car though. They almost do give off a "there's a piece missing" vibe on a lighter color car.

Thanks for the positive feedback...and the negative ones LOL.
Tonyb635, I bought them from a fellow 5series.net member.
ETNav382, yeah that's exaclty why I got them, they are different and yes they are Hamann.
I've had my car for 8 years now and I noticed almost everyone gets the M5 sides. I just wanted something unique. The options for side skirts for the E60 isn't that great, what I really wanted was the Lumma M5 sides, which was offered by Trinity Autosport for a short time then they took it off of their product line-up, after which it was impossible to find. I think these were a great alternative. I also think the ACS doesn't offer that big a change for it's price.
I guess to some it does look like it's missing something but I just didn't want another straight piece of plastic, I've been looking at that for 8 years lol. I like curves!
I think it would look great in black too but there are some lines and curves you just would not see in black but looks amazing in silver. Which is why I bought the car in silver. I had a choice when I bought it, I opted for silver, there are some aggressive lines and curves on the E60 that is hidden with black. Like I said I like curves!
