My Ride: 2005 545i Black Sapphire - Fully Loaded
Model Year: 545i 2005
Default

I have a 2005 545i and i'm looking to install a m5 front bumper without changing the fenders. So far I've tried my bmw dealerships bodyshop but they couldn't get it on. They told me the front bumper carriers are different in every year, is that true? i told them that other people here on the forums had done it. They also told me that if they remove the foam it is a safety issue in an event of an accident.

So, I gave Sonic MS a call they told me it's not possible to do without changing the fenders, but its been proven that it is do-able!!

i've decided to look for another handy bodyshop in the bay area. anyone know of any bodyshops in the bay area that have done a m5 front bumper conversion onto the car without changing the fenders? unless, my530i (fred) is willing to help me with the install!!

yes, that's right, if you want to retrofit with your exist fender, what you have to do is, you have to remove the foam out of your car. and then after you remove it. you will be able to assembly with the M5 front bumper. PS: at the end of each coner of the bumper there will be a gap about 2-3 mm. so just go to the bodywork and do it, your dealer must be STUPID MechaniC!!!!!

Hi Randy,
chilla was absolutely correct. Remove those two front black foam and you're set.
