The other day my car and I decided to have a close encounter of the collision kind with a wall - nothing major just some scratches. As you can see it is not too to bad - how much is the damage going to be? I hope I don't have to get a new bumper cover.

Sorry to hear about your incident, that really sux!!! It's hard to tell by the pictures, but I dont see if there is any cracks in the plastic or if it just the paint scuffed through to the plastic. If there are no holes in the abs plastic its just a matter of repairing the area and and repainting the rear bumper.

Just by the pictures it looks like a simple repair and paint. Id bet about $300 or so for the work. Dont let the body shop tell you they have to remove the bumper either, thats BS. The repair can be made on the car.

+1, looks like a sand, bondo, and color match repair....

Out here in LA, we even have mobile bumper repair services that could probably fix that....

GL...hope it gets resolved to your satisfaction....

Yes, it is possible to the repair with the bumper on the car. Just from experience, most shops never mask and prep the car well enough and you will end up getting over spray all over your car. Just pull the bumper off yourself and have them paint it. Its not very hard and well worth the effort. Unless you want to spend hours of claybaring your car afterwards.

Ouch! It just looks like paint scrapped, in which that case the damage can be easily fixed.
