Out of curiosity.......why are people making their car look like an M5 when it isn't (besides the obvious that the M5 is a beauty)? It seems that when people go to the expense of adding the M5 wheels, M5 mirrors, M5 bumper, quad exhaust, Side gills, M-tech kit (if necessary) etc etc etc, why don't they just buy the M5 (used or new)???? I personally think that the gills are going a little over the top. This is just my opinion and I don't mean to offend anyone.
Again looking like an M5 is nice, but without the engine, its still not an M5.

I brought a loaded 545 for around 22k and then spent around 10k modding it the way i wanted (the hamann route) so I got the car i wanted bulit to my spec for 32k. If i wanted that with a m5 then it would have cost me around 42k so big differance. I do however think you shouldnt have M5 badges on a non m5 car

There are various reason people do this.
1. In their country- taxes are huge for m5 & insurance is a lot for big v8, v10 powered cars.
2. Gasoline is 2x as much as US
3. They like the look of a m5, but don't need the engine and payment of M5 (I am an example of this. I could afford a m5 but don't really care for it. I don't need a 4 door sports car, I have a 2 door sports car which will do. But I do like the look of the M5, so Mtec and wheels are what i will do to my car plus little things to customize the car to make it personalized to my liking).
The badge is kinda tacky cuz it's not an M. But really car looks BAD ASS!!!! loving it.

Car looks nice , but I have to agree with most that the badge has to be removed/replaced. It like walking around with a Purple heart medal and never having served in the military, not cool

I didn?t repaint the fenders.
There are only small scratches, but after 3M polishing the finish is OK

awesome. how hard was this to do?
i wonder if a local body shop can do this type of work and how much would they charge?

That is one thing I don't get about the E90/E60. We accept the fact to take on the body kits, wheels, and similar interior resemblance without any issues. But once someone slaps on the M3/M5 gills, it's frowned upon? I go to the E90 for my 3 series a lot and almost everyone hates the fact that some 3 series used a M3 gill. It's really funny when I think about it. I say do whatever makes you feel best. But if you keep continuing reading this thread, you'll eventually take it off because now you might think you're a poser OP .
