My Ride: 2003 BMW 545i
Default My Brain Hurts - Aux, USB, DVD, integration, CCC, E=mc2, what does it all mean

I've been lurking and scouring the forums trying to get my head around the dream of just popping in a Disney movie in the car so my kids not go bananas on 3 to 8 hour road trips on headrest monitors; and perhaps just the ability to plug my iphone and listen to music, and maybe answer my phone through the car so I do not get a ticket, watch crazy Japanese TV shows (digital) and enjoy the perks of owning a nice car... is this all too much to ask?

The Car:
2003 545i, Japanese Version, vin last 7: B360177
TV (analog)
Mini Disc and CD player on dash
6 CD changer in glove box
DVD/Compact Flash Navigation in trunk
Japanese Phone dock (really old style, 2003 lol)

The Plan:

1. Play DVD, visible on the front screen and rear headrest monitors
2. Plug in iPhone to play music and make/answer calls
3. Watch TV (Japan is all digital now)

The Mystery:
1. Can I swap the in-dash CD drive with a DVD drive (factory) and expect it to work?
2. Is there something out there that could integrate all my needs into a plug and play box?
3. Can someone code my car remotely through the internets?

Thanks in advance!

1. No.
2. Yes, there are multiple aftermarket options that allow you to view video on your CCC screen, integrate ipod into CCC, etc.
3. Theoretically, yes. You'd have to have a laptop with the proper software connected to your car and give someone remote access to your laptop.
4. E=mc2 means energy is equal to mass times the speed of light squared.
