I don't think so, the air intake will suck whatever air it needs, fans would make no big difference (maybe intake air temperature would). AFAIK, in dyno runs fans directed at the engine are to help cooling the engine, not intake air.

Thank for all the responses, I am thinking of getting the VF supercharger, I see the price fell from $9k to $7k. I was thinking of just getting a M5 but with the V10 sucking all that gas, the higher insurance and high repair cost, I think adding a supercharger would be cheaper.

at 20% loss you're about right in terms of stock power (326 bhp).

Those big heavy wheels aren't helping either..

How many miles on your car? Any upgrades or bone-stock?
I only have 68k on the car, I have a K&N drop in filter and a Magnaflow Muffler.

Magnaflow has been known to reduce HP, or at least not alter the HP at all.

261 sounds about right though.

There is no way a stock 545i will ever reach 300 at the wheels...
