Haha, I almost stopped logging in as an active member because of how uptight some of the respondents were on this thread. I am glad to see that not everyone fanatically cries Armageddon when someone pushes it.

For those of you worried about the deer jumping in front of my car, must not be aware the I15 runs through the desert. Best part was a chic was sleeping in the back through the whole thing.
Funny you should mention that - in 1993 a friend I were driving back to Vegas from a day trip in LA. I was going 80-85 and hit a coyote on that very same road at around 2am. As I was driving a piece of shit plastic '89 Camero, it took out the front left of my car and my drivers side tire. I barely kept the car from careening off the road. I can't even imagine what would have happened at 120, let alone 160.

When I had a CBR900, also back in vegas, on my way to mount Charleston I took the bike to 160 on an empty stretch of 95 and I got hit in the shoulder with a dragon fly or beetle or something. The bruise it left looked a lot similar to the bruise a bullet leaves after striking a Kevlar vest. My shoulder hasn't been right since, and that was 10 years ago.

What I'm trying to say is, when something collides with you at 234 feet per second, it's serious.

Taking your car out to an empty stretch of desert in broad daylight and opening it up to see what it can do can be a fun and exhilarating experience. It's still probably not the most intelligent thing a person can do but hey, we're human and well known for taking pleasure in our ignorance. But having a sleeping passenger in the back? How would you like it if, while you slept, someone put a revolver to your head and played some russian roulette? You'd probably be pretty pissed off (assuming you lived).

Just another way to look at it.

Here's an interesting one - http://greensboro.injuryboard.com/automobi...googleid=231086

He assured everyone he was a safe driver, so it must have been true, amirite?

But aside from that, google is your friend. There's a ton of stuff on high speed crashes, BMW or otherwise.

Crap like this only ever happens to other people... I mean, until it happens to you.

I appreciate what you're saying 530ISPORT... BUT... The only thing that i thought was totally inexcusable was that he had a girl in the back seat whilst doing that speed. If she'd consented him to do that, then fair enough, but she was asleep, so he's put an innocent person's life at risk. But, no one was hurt, but i just don't think it's the sort of thing you do, and then brag about on a public forum...
