i removed my resonator and my muffler. Then went with 2" piping. It feels better then when i had a single magnaflow muffler to the quads. But your butt dyno is never accurate.

Or it'll sound like another fscking ricer. I really want a small and fast way to weld shut all the loud exhausts that I hear on the Honda, Subaru, and Toyota's.

Or maybe it won't? Don't hate too quickly. Generally speaking, louder exhausts systems = more HP from increased air flow. Coupled with a tune = HP increase. Have you heard the full RPI GT system on an M5?! Now that's loud, but it's sexy as hell loud. And the gains from the bolt-ons + a tune on this setup is amazing.

If you're talking about those fart cans, then yes, they should be abolished. But I had a Honda S2000 before and had one of the quieter exhausts but still was in the volume range of an RPI Axle back on our E60s. I made some good gains and it honestly sounded great. Just because the exhaust is on a Japanese car doesn't autmatically make it a "ricer". That's the last thing I wanted to be.

To the OP, not sure exactly what the muffler delete is but maybe try removing the resonator first? It should be a quick and easy job for any muffler shop.

I remember a thread that showed how to "tie open" the muffler bypass on the E60 exhaust. I have seen reports showing increased Hp for open flowing exhaust but the back pressure is needed for mid range tourque. So, you gain ar WOT but loose some at the mid and lower end. Sound is nice but sound alone does not equal Hp. I like a good sounding exhaust and have heard some on youtube that have done a resonator removal and muffle bypass (which can be completely and cheaply reversed).

I had just my rear muffler taken off and they ran straight pipes with dual tips. It sounds great for $40. Not too loud and has a little rumble to it. Can't speak for power but it sounds louder

Also makes it easier to put on a y-pipe and run a quad after I get the new bumper.

Sure, you can do it on an E60. Unless you have a decent access to metal fabrication equipment on some decent skills you will be having someone do it.
There are two ways to remove the mufflers on the E60, neither are easy. I've yet to find a premade muffler delete for this car
