Hi,

just wanted to refresh this thread again...

It is not so much the loudness I am keen on.
It is just that special kind of sound I would like to have.

It is similar to the sound of the Audi RS6 in the file attached (watch the first 15 seconds...).
Also, an X5 4.8i has got a similar sound.

I guess, the engine characteristic of these cars is different to that of an 545i resulting in a different kind of sound...

Any more proposals what to do?

I'm going to end up purchasing the RDSport dual exhaust from a member on these boards. When I go to install, I'll be removing all three resonators so can't wait to hear what it sounds like

Superhung,
I saw the thread where you bought the RDSport exhaust from ACS5ER. That is NOT a quad exhaust he's selling unless he gave you the deal of a lifetime. New, the RDSport quad exhaust list for over $2K.

Concerning a 545i, I found almost nothing about this car in German forums, but here I saw so many interesting threads regarding useful information/problems of a 545i/550i. Gorgeous!!!

In US the gas is cheaper than here .
In US BMW presents her cars .
In US the VAT is lower than in EU .
In US ALL people lease their car, in EU someone still buys the car .
In US are waster, till now they have waste resources (but happy time is going...) Then to go @55 MPH they need a V8 4500cc at least .
Finally, in US people are richer than here (but for EUR 45k with leasing also in EU people would have only 545i/550i and not 530d) .

MOST maybe, but not ALL.
I wouldn't be modding my car if it's leased .
Cheers

Hey VT, yeah I know. Thanks for double-checking. I'm actually leaning towards just a dual exhaust for right now. I just want something that sounds better than my current stock setup. Your quads are sure tasty looking though

Try Remus. Search the forums for "JDN's" posts. His signature includes a sound clip of his Remus exhaust.

you're gonna want to take out the 3 resonators (the 2 tubular ones, and the rectangular one right b4 the muffler)

from a recent thread:
(video) http://forums.e60.net/index.php?act=attach...st&id=46766

thread:
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=43344&st=0

for only ~200 bux, this can be done, check out both links
