Hi there,

I would like to install a different muffler to my 545i as the V8 sound is pretty quiet.

I read through all the various threads of this great forum dealing with exhaust options for a 545i but could not find a suitable answer to my question so far.

What I am searching for is an exhaust option that would produce that typical gargling sound that V8s make (somewhat like the Audi RS6, or like a Camaro, Corvette, Mustang).

It seems that the BMW V8s typically do not produce such a sound.
Or is there any possibilty to get that sound with a different muffler?

Any ideas for a muffler option?

Many thanks!

You want the V8 burble. Then remove all three resonators and/or buy ivan545's B&B exhaust.

i did that, remove all resonators with b and b sounds nice, but now it's just no resonator and mufflers, but quad exhaust looks nice still some noise.

b&b is pretty loud itself. for even louder and deeper, just go straight pipes. the route with the removal of the resonators is always open as well.

and btw, welcome and enjoy the forums.

Hi folks,

many thanks for your ideas so far.

@ NeRwEEzy:
thank you for the warm welcome!
This forum is really great. I was looking for something like this in German/European forums, but the only ones where I could find some information about BMW V8s were BMW M forums.
Concerning a 545i, I found almost nothing about this car in German forums, but here I saw so many interesting threads regarding useful information/problems of a 545i/550i. Gorgeous!!!
Seems to me that you guys in the States prefer this type of car more than European customers...
Best regards!
