Have the same wheel in my car. Sad to see that the surface have started to peel where the tumbs meet the trim.

At first, sorry about making another steering wheel thread.
However, I could get a likely new MSport steering wheel with airbag for 680? (900$ / 607?) without install. I would do the install myself, that's not a problem.
How does it sound to you, the price I mean?

A ghetto option to get thicker steering wheel could be Wheelskin.
Any experiences about this?
Thanks!

FWIW, I bought a wheelskin (one color, original), for my e39.
If you take your time, and get everything lined up as you go, it looks great IMO.
My leather on the steering wheel was rubbing off, and I couldn't justify a new wheel.
Need to wear gloves when sewing it on though. That waxy cord will burn the hell out of your fingers when you pull it as tight as needed for a good fit.
Also, I don't think the silver-bottomed sport wheel has the bumps at 10 and 2.

Same with my car. Mine is from 4-2005 and with 86.000 km. My brother's car has had the same in 60k km's. The dealer replaced the trim under warranty.
They said it's a known problem.

Didn't know you have MT.
I'm not the expert, but someone here might be able to... Who knows?

This could be done. All you need to do is build a 2 axis CNC to move the shifter in the gear pattern depending on the paddles

Get that wheel with the silver trim on the bottom. Looks WAY better. Just my opinion...
