I am wondering if anyone has added a MP3 head-phone jack (aftermarket) to an E60 model that did not come with.
I am looking for a cost effective way to do this without utilizing the dealer. I also wanted to stay away from Ipod specific hardware & I don't care if the Idrive has an interface. I just want a channel to place the MP3 player without using an FM Transmitter.

The aux-in port is your only option.

The aux-in jack is located (if my recollection is correct) on the rear of the center on older cars and inside the console (this may or may not be option 6FL specific) on LCI cars. The 6FL option cannot be retrofitted.

It's still to the rear of the center console on LCI cars.
I wonder, do I have a second jack in the rear also?
On older cars, the aux-in is located inside the glove box, next to the CD changer. It _CAN_ be retrofitted, but only by a dealer, as you need to have the software on the iDrive computer coded to recognise it.
