Re 2006 530xiT in the US:
1) What's the best approved motor oil other than BMW's own? The on-line 2005 5-series manual has a legend on the first page that says "BMW recommends Castrol" but no mention anywhere of exactly what type. Synthetic I assume, but does anyone know exactly what BMW is recommending here?
2) Same question re coolant.
3) same question re windshield washer fluid.
TIA

I actually got one free bottle with the car. I'm looking ahead to when that might be exhausted and I have to add more. Thanks all for the advice - dealer charges $18 for a quart, though Bavauto charges less and of course Mobil 1 or Castrol will be less also.
Any thoughts on coolant and windshield washer fluid?
