Missing Homelink

Just bought an 06 530i today and was disappointed that it didn't come with the Homelink option on the rear view mirror. I've already searched Ebay and some parts sites. Is there any way to install the system without replacing the whole mirror which looks to cost around $350? Is it a simple install and will my 06 be pre-wired? I will appreciate any and all advice.

to the forum and congrats on your new car. I ran a quick search via the upper right tool bar using "homelink install", feel free to do the same on this and further q's. Here's some threads I found that might help you..
