I had a courtesy 1-series today, and i like the mirrors alot more than the e60's huge squared block mirrors, just wondering if it is possible to use the mirrors for 1 series or 3series on a 5series? Has anyone done this? am not too bothered about power folding etc as long as they look better than they currently do. And yes i have looked at M5 mirrors! but didn't really want to spend ?600 on a pair of mirrors right now. Thanks

Hi

First of all I think not the foot of the mirror from a 1-serie will fit onto the doorframe of a E60/61 , then there is the wirring that will depend on when the E60/61 is from ( also the "spender" 1-serie ) , I know so much that after 09/05 the wirring of the mirror on a e60/61 change ( from none Lin-bus signal to Lin-bus signal ) , how it is with the 1-serie's I don't know , so here will also be some "detective" worke to be done to find out this.

So all in all I will say , keep away from trying such a mode , you will end up using a lot of mony and risc ending up with a por result.

Maybe 3er: 1er mirrors are too small imho.

Get M5 mirrors man, don't search trouble.

I suspected the foot would be different shape/size, but thought maybe other bmw mirrors could be attached to the e60 foot? Seems like this could be more complicated than i thought, will have to look out for some M5 mirrors then, thanks for the replies.

Do they fit? Didn't know that. Would save a lot of money, indeed.
