Anxiously waiting to see where you go with the project!

I am getting my car this thursday and I have been dreaming up mods until I get it.

Mac mini was one of them!

Have u considered navwithtv.com? Called them today, very nice answered all my questions ( I will post details in that thread later, gotta take a final first)

Also, how about a UPS (uninteruptable power supply) like the ones apc.com makes.
I was thinking with this maybe u could get the mac to start up / shutdown along with car automatically, u would also have a few minutes after turning off car to do computer stuff.

Most the power inverters i have researched turn off when the car bat hits 11 volts. Is this bad for the car? If not, then it should work, u turn off car, inverter works for a sec until bat hits 11 volts, UPS supplies power for 5-30 minutes (depending on model) than ur computer shuts down. In energy saver (os X) there is a restart from power failure option, think that would turn on the mini once power was supplied again? (I think UPS and invertor COULD mess this feature up?)
