I think the result is very good; I am sure that I can feel a fairly distinct difference before and after all the changes. And, I really like the looks of the wheels and tires. Money well spent. I've posted the pic below in the parts, mods, etc., dicussion. But, here it is again. I like it.
I LOVE your wheels Do you think your throttle body has made any perceptible difference? I have been thinking about it. One thing that I have done (and actually went with JDN one night) is take it out to an 1/8 mile track and get the actual run time. I would love to know yours.
Thank you for the nice thought on the wheels. Check them out better here. I did the throttle body first. I could not tell any real difference from it alone, but that does not mean they was no difference. I don't think you are likely to feel a "small" single mod, but I think you can feel the cumulative effect of several. After all mods are done, I am planning to take the car to the strip for a few runs. I don't care about the Xmas tree. I'd just be interest in the time/speed. I doubt that driving would be a problem since I should get little, if any, wheel spin with the auto.

The wheels are BMW style 101's. They are "M' wheels, but honestly, I don't know exactly what that means. I don't know if they once were stock on, say, an M3 or if they came with some M package. They are 19"s, and they are very light--in the neighborhood of 22.5 lbs. Given what they are, they are very inexpensive--as I recall list is $745 for rears and $715 for fronts. They are listed as accessories for the 5 series in the 5 series accessories catalog. I was lucky. I am new to BMW and just bumped into them at my dealer--when I was considering buying some more expensive, but also very light, BBS wheels. The BBS's would have been nice too--my second choice since I insist on lightness.
M wheels should be lighter than the normals one, plus that rim is a composite rim so should be even lighter. But when is time for washing would be a pain with the mesh and all the brake dust BMW is famous for
Right, their lightness and looks are the reasons I bought them. But, see above on the washing issue.
There are currently three chips out there that claim to give about 30 hp and tq. I know Wettenaur (sp?) is a good brand, so their claims are probably valid.
Thanks much for the chip info. I probably will wait for Dinan. My dealer is Dinan certified, and I am trying to minimize the risk of mod-related warranty problems.

I'm also waiting for Dinan's claims but will have no problems going to Upsolute if Dinan's price doesn't reasonably match the product.
