I like it- a few months ago I painted the grills silver and I think it looks great- I wonder what the mesh in silver would look like?

That is exactly where I started! I had taped it just like how you painted to see the look and also simulated with tape on the sides only with the center blacked out (to look more like the mesh). I decided to go the mesh route, but like how you have it as well. My mesh was galvanized silver to start with and I started to put it on the car first to see how I liked it (got some clear tubing that I was going to slit and use around the edges). Maybe I'll make another one and try it on the car in silver.

Another thing I meant to do (forgot before putting on the mesh) and you should consider is hitting the silver parts behind the grill with a thin mist of black paint. Looks like some kind of cooler (maybe oil or tranny), but would certainly look better not contrasting so much.
