I'm in the process of shopping for extended warranties and am down to 2 options. One is Warranty Direct and is a wear and tear warranty, but is about $5300 for the top of the line 4yr/up to 85k (I'm at 42k now). The other is a Fidelity that is a mechanical breakdown and is about $3700 for a 4yr/48k addional miles.
There are a couple of other smaller differences all with the warranty direct policy being superior. WD covers overheating, nuts and bolts, shop supplies, etc and Fidelity doesn't.
So is the fact that one is wear and tear and one is mechanical breakdown worth the price difference? The WD salesman is obviously telling me that it is and that the majority of warranty repairs are wear and tear and not complete breakdown.
I need to pull the trigger in less than a week on something so any input would be great.
