Just curious how BSW measures up against Focals and German Maestros and such - anyone know?
PS MB Quart did used to be really good back in the day. Not sure how they are now - haven't paid attention to them in a while.

its easy to tell if they are the junk product MB quart makes now or if they are the old great stuff mb quarts was known for.
google the part if maxxsonics sells it its junk if they dont have it in their site as active speakers then you are good to go.
ill find out for you

he's lying through his teeth, of german engineering is not the same as german made.
They are maxxsonics made in asia, but everything is made in asia, thats not the problem the problem is the quality and design
I would forgo these and buy some focal or hertz, they are making some really good drivers or CDT, rainbow, dls, hybrid audio, i mean there are a lot of great comps out there.

OK, after some research I have found out that German Maestro speakers are produced by the original engineers/designers of the MB Quart range of speakers.
Can anyone here confirm this please?

I still don't understand how people hate SO much on the stock Logic 7 system. Yes, it is no aftermarket system with matched components, and a great low end, but for a stock radio the sound quality is awesome in my opinion. Even the low end is decent.
I also have an AVR-354 for my home theater with Logic 7, and again its excellent quality (matched to Polks all around).
Just thought I would throw my little rant out there

i have some old school MB QM100 RMC 4" components that i've been thinking about installing in the front doors. they are spec'd at 4 ohms, when i measure the impedance its about 3 ohms.
i can't decide what to do. i wanted to use and aftermarket amp with a cleansweep, lc7 or other line converter. but i've read so many bad stories here about ear shattering chimes and low level hissing that i can't seem to start the project. i have all the components in the bench ready to go.
i may just chicken out and wait for BSW to come out with their new PNP amp and buy that along with the speaker upgrade, and call it good, but it seems like the easy way out. for me most of the fun in car audio is the scheming, the research, and the actual install.
i am for sure doing the SWS-8 underseat sub upgrade with aftermarket amp as that is a low risk and very easy thing to do, since i don't have to worry about chimes, hissing and general i-drive freakouts.
are the stock front speakers 2 Ohm?
