LOL. Nah? i don't think you're nuts. I just think the situation you're in is crazy. While I too love my car and have put a lot of myself into it the opportunity to hop into a 2010 e60 M5 is just insane? for me at least.
Not to mention all the $ you just dropped on your 550 it's a tough decision to make. If money was not an issue the M5 would probably win. But damn? your 550? still mint. AHHHH? the opportunity to be one of a few e60 M5 owners?GL with your decision man.

Yeah bro, I know. All that $ but might just say screw it. I have the $ to do it but I just SHOULDN'T. But that never stopped me before. I don't know. I am so 50/50 on it. HATE decisions like this. If it were a 2008 or 2009 and $10K cheaper it would be an easy decision because honestly, I don't think it is a HUGE jump and the extra $10K to go to a 2010 seems stupid because there just isn't much difference in them so the 2010 doesn't excite me so much more. I have a nice car that I put a lot of my self into. I just can't help thinking that I'd rather have one of the nicest damn "i" cars around. One that is really UNIQUE and turns heads vs just another M5. Although I would put those HREs on the M5 and it would look pretty sweet without much modding. I won't see many (if any) e60 BMWs sporting those. But then again, maybe I just wait a few years and step WAY up to an F10 M5. At least it would feel like a giant jump. Right now it is just more of a novelty. And I really have a feeling that when the Quaife is installed that I will really love my car. The stock M5 has 383 lbs of torque. I will have an estimated 440 lbs. I might do very well against a stock M5 0-60. I know he'd blow by me as we got to higher speeds but the off line accel is what I like the most.

So it leaves me again thinking I can just continue with my planned mods and have a very unique car that might out accelerate or at least hang with an M5 anyway. Plus, the interior in my car is wwwwaaaaaaayyyyyyy nicer than the M5. I am all black with black bamboo. Looks really unique. I have never seen a car that looks like mine on the inside.

Yeeeessshhhhh. I HATE THESE FREAKING SITUATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would tell you to keep your car man. Honestly it doesn't make sense to me to put up more money and basically forfeit all the mods you have done to just get the moniker. Like you said, your car will most likely outgun a M5 after your quaife is installed. Where you'll lose is the top end, but how often are you really going to get to push to that high of speed anyway?

Not to mention you get much better gas mileage and lower insurance rate.

I agree 100%...you have the looks and speed, but you most likely also have better reliability and much less in overall maintenance costs. If you were going from an e60 > F10 M5, that would be a different story, but I honestly believe you'd be kicking yourself in the end as far as $$$$$$$ goes. I would wait it out a bit at the very least, because the e60 M5s are going to dump in price once the F10s are available on the market.

and that's just my .02

M5 maintenance and reliability is night and day with a "normal" 5. Honestly the way your car is modded, I'd keep it save the $$ an still have something very special.

Totally with ya there. Maintenance is not an issue for me. I don't put a ton of miles on the car and I am a DRIVER that's for sure.-lol. The rear HRE wheels are already M5 offset and fronts just will need spacers and this car would look hot with just those and a good drop.

I was set to keep mine last night then the dealer called and has her all ready for me. DANG IT!

You already have a Beast! Reading your posts I can see the smile on your face as you describe the plethora of personal Mods and the unique character of your car. I can't find too many reasons in your commentary for buying the M5, other than ..... purchasing one. It would seem like you've made your decision. Keep your Beast.

About the F10 M5, I had an impulse to start the buying process and my salesman informed me that they had five inbound ..... and they were all sold! The kicker is...... they have a waiting list. Damn it.

Yeah I know. But you know how you get that itch. Car is same ext color as mine and at moment I am very close to a deal. Frankly, this dealer is one of those that I have never had good experiences with so when I say close it doesn't mean we are done. I am irritated at momement. Guy arguing over $1500. I will let it go at that though.

Your going to buy it. Period. HAHA. It doesn't matter that you have a bad 550i. Your mind is set on that M5. Your just like me, we're never satisfied in till we know we have the best thats available. Unlike you I don't have the funds. The M5 is a beast and imagine what it will look like and run after you tweak the crap out of it.
