Leave the border chrome, or paint the whole thing matte black?

I'm a fan of the all matte. I will say that it actually looks better than I would have thought! It would be unique!

I did matte frame and kept the slats chrome. It's a bit more subtle--comparable to the gloss black set up (IMHO). Personally, I think all the options are good--just depends on your tastes. But I have not yet seen the matte slats and chrome frame. That is much less common.

My one gripe about the all matte is the way it looks like the grill is missing from far away. It still looks sharp as you get closer.

Yea, I ended up finishing them with the chrome frame. I really like how it came out. They definitely came out way better than I thought, n look even better on the car. I'll post pics tmr.

I had the all matte kidney grills. I thought it looked too plasticy and cheap. If you want all black, I would go gloss black. It will have that racey but refined finish. Right now I have the chrome frame with matte black center. I figure I wanted the clean classy look.

Just realized I downgraded to a grille thats on e60's lower than the 545i and 550i lol. I think I might go full matte black when I have free time.

I was going to say, thats what my grill looks like already (standard)!
