I am on the same boat. i would like to know as well. The 16558 kit comes with single muffler only right? If i want to make it quad i would need and X pipe and another muffler? or am i off better off going this route:
PS: i hope the owner doesn't mind me using his pictures. I can't remember the member name to give him credits.

If you want a dual exhaust with quad tips, then don't bother getting a 16558/16559 kit, check out what West and Socale39 did: https://5series.net/forums/e60-parts...-98557/page20/

Behold, we now have video!!!

Greg (aka gcvt) was kind enough to take this initial video which demonstrates the Magnaflow 16559 cat-back exhaust on his 550. He is going to try to take some better video footage, but for now at least this gives you a close-up look of the exhaust as well as show off the great sound.

Many thanks to Greg!

I've posted these videos before on this forum, but here's another set of sound links anyways.

Here's a video demonstrating the sound of a 550i with Magnaflow exhaust parts, stock catalytic converters and manifolds:

Here's are a couple videos demonstrating the sound of a 550i with Magnaflow exhaust parts, deleted catalytic converters and aftermarket manifolds:

The drone is present in all of these configurations. It became much louder when the catalytic converters were removed and the aftermarket manifolds were installed.
