Hi guys,

I have chosen to go with a magnaflow quad exhaust on my 545i. After going to see the guys a profusion customs uk they came up with the following plan to use;

- A cat back System with 2.25 inch stainless steel pipes.
- A x-pipe in line.
- Followed by 2 x 18inch long silencers.
- Then straight through to the tips.

How do you think this system will sound guys? There are not many modified e60's around from where i am from and i have only heard one e60 545i in person that i like and that is a member on here westside who has a eisenmann sport quad. do you think the above sytem that has been designed for me will sound like the eisenmann???? Will it be to loud???
I do not want a exhaust that will drone but when i give it some gas it will sound deep and loud like the eisenmann. Please guys your knowledge will give me a much better understanding of what i can expect from the above system.

Thanks Jags.

Jags,

Sounds similar to my setup. I haven't had a chance to post up pics or a sound clip yet. Been very busy. I hope to have a full write-up this weekend. I have a quad Magnaflow setup and it sounds great! There is a nice rumble that sounds clean. Not too ricey or obnoxious.

My Setup:

I left the two cylindrical resonators into a Magnaflow Resonated X-Pipe (removed rear resonator to accomodate this) into 2.25" SS Pipes into two Maganflow mufflers. One 14" on the drivers side and a smaller one on the passnegers side, not sure of the size of the passneger side, but it is mounted almost vertical, actually tilted much like the RD Sport Setup. This exits into 4 3.5" Tips.

I am very happy with the setup. Very Little drone. I actually think it may be too quiet for me. I am waiting for the exhaust to "break-in" to see how lud it will become. If need be, I can always remove the two resonators up stream. Good Luck!

It will drone at low rpm. When you say, "silencers," do you mean resonators? If all you have are 2 resonators, it will definitely be loud AND drone you to death on traffic acceleration and deceleration.

Hyper_545i, what do you mean by a resonated x-pipe? Is it a 4x9 with and x-pipe inside?

Sorry what i meant by the silencers are actually 2 x 18 inch 4 inch diameter Stainless steel mufflers. I was thinking of trying it without the resonaters first thenif i find it to loud and droney then i will put them in.

If you are talking about round 4" round mufflers with a straight though design (preforated interior piping), then these are also considered resonators /glasspacks. Click on my For Sale Sig. Is it similar to these?

Had a look at those and yes they look like the same ones he showed me at the showroom. He said they have a inner and outer baffle which will prevent it from droning much.
What do you think are these ok?

You're exhaust will sound good, for sure. It'll also drone pretty bad and loud too at low rpm. If you're going to hang around low rpm, then this is a good option. Good luck. You'll get the exhaust note you want, but you may have to sacrifice some droning.
