I like the way the Magnaflow 14816 universal muffler looks and can get a good price on it. I don't plan on getting quads for a very long time. I've seen others with the 14815 but they were on a 530. Not sure how the 525 or 530 looks underneath but the 545 has a pipe probably a 4" pipe that splits into to smaller pipes. Then it goes into 2 separate mufflers. The inlet for the Magnaflow 14816 is 2.25.
So my question is, is there a downside or loss of power going from a bigger pipe (about 4") to a smaller pipe(2.25") or it won't make a big difference?

It's a good thing that it's 2.25" piping into the mufflers. In the case of exhaust piping, bigger isn't always better.
