Hey thanks. I will just have to purchase 4 new tires. It will just take longer to hide the purchase from the wife. Tell me about offsets. Still not clear about this.

the offset of wheels determines how far "pushed in" or "pushed outward" a wheel is on a car. the higher the offset, the more the wheel is inward of the car. the lower the offset, the more outward and the more the wheel protrudes from the car.

for example, before i went with spacers, my wheels were compared to the wheels that vegastrashed had. i have the oem 128's, which have an offset of 32 in the rear. vegastrashed had the oem 166's, which had an offset of 28 in the rear. mine had a higher number, so mine was "pushed more inward" toward the car. vegas had 12mm spacers, which pushed outward the wheels more creating an offset of 16. i added 15mm spacers on mine, which gave me a new offset in the rear of 17. since the offset became smaller, the wheel protrudes outward more. with my offset of 17, vegas with 16 (before), our wheels were flushed with the fender. hope this helps.

Most people are not aware that the 167 and 166 wheels have two offset choices. You can choose either 28mm or 17mm. The default offset size of the 167 wheels for the 5-series is 28mm. You have to be explicit in your order to get the 17mm offset. No spacers required with 17mm offset but you limit your tire size to 275/30/19. With 28mm offset you can choose from 275/30/19 or 285/30/19.

The picture that whay posted above appears that he isn't lowered. He's just got the stock Sport suspension.
And that is the "mistake" I did, went for 166s with 17mm offset and 3 months later I have sold the 530d and bought M5 which has 285/35/19 rear tires and now most likely I will not be able to fit new tires to 17mm offset rims. If I had gone for 28mm I wouldn't have a problem.

So what is the offset for stock M6 167's? Is it 17mm? Sorry if the answer was already posted...

The stock 167 wheels on a M6 has 17mm offset.

Thats exactly why I didn't get the 17mm offset wheels with my 166's I put on last month. They serve the purpose great for a 275 rear tire and you can go spacerless which is best, but the wheels will not be transferable in some situations. I went with the 28MM offset and spent more and got the 285/30 19's. in the rear and the 245/35/19s in the front. PS2's.

Hey, you look very expert!!!!!
I need an advise from you. Please help me!!!!!!!!!
I'm gonna get a 2008 535xi and I would like to put on Spoke 124 - 18" all season wheels (kinda lotsa snow in Reno - Nevada). What do I have to order? I know that BMW has two sets of Spoke 124: one for "i" and one for"xi". How the car would look?
Really need a big help to make the decision.

has anyone some pictures of a 2008 BMW 535xi with these wheels? If so, please post'em

Thanks in advance

Go ahead and order the 124 wheels with the "xi" offset number. The numbers should be in the high 30s for the front and low 40s for the rear. If these numbers are in the 20s then it's the wrong 124 wheels. If you want to see what 124 wheels look like they were standard wheels for the 2007 550i Sport. The only difference is that your 535xi will be sitting higher than the 2007 550i Sport.

Thanks a lot,
and if I lower the car, then? Is it possible on a AWD? Or causes problems. i'm really thinking once I have the new wheels on, to low the car. What's your opinion?

Thanks in advance

you are able to lower the xi models. H&R makes springs for the all wheel drives. i believe cmansbimmer and ku530 have done this mod. it really gets rid of that gap on the xi models and gives the car an even better look. good luck man.
