M5 wheels - what offset and tire size?

the ideal tire sizes would be the same as on your oem 172 wheels.
if you come across m5 wheels with m5 offset, you might want to get spacers(rear), around 10 to 12 mm.
m5 wheels with m6 offset dont need spacers.

Hey how are you guys transporting the old wheels/tires after you put on you new wheels. The guys at the tire shop are telling me they have special bags to put the old wheels in and I should be able to get two in my trunk and two in my back seat. Will this work, and even if it will, should I put tires even bagged on the precious leather?

Would 15mm spacers on the rears still be ok? Or will they rub already?

i just installed my OEM M166 m5 offset wheels. I want to get spacers for the rear wheels, but i want no rubbing, i want it flush. I see alot of people recommend 12mm. My car is dropped with H&R sport springs. would 12mm rub??? anybody with this set up???? please help, thanks

I am installing 166s on my 535i .. and I dont know what an offset even is ? My car is not lowered or anything .. do I need to buy offsets ?

The tires i got are stock sizes Pirelli Rosso 245/35/19 Front & 275/30/19 Rear

Please advise ..

No, you dont need to buy "offsets". LOL. Your wheels should go on just fine. The offset of the wheel will determine how much the wheel will stick outside of your fender wall. Once you put them on, and you're happy with the look, then all is kosher.
